Save Money on Groceries
We all need to buy groceries. The good news is that there are many things you can do to lower your grocery shopping bills.
Save Money on Groceries
· Use coupons - Buy a sunday papaer and use the coupons for items you always buy. Also, see the following sites below for good coupon information.
· Skip the fancy packaged and processed foods - If you eat things like dried beans, peas, lentils, rice, bananas, apples, pears, etc… you will save a lot of money. The fancy packaging costs the producers a lot of money who pass that cost on to you.
· Don’t by bottled water. Its tremedously expensive for what you get. If you are worried about tap water or don’t like the taste, buy a NSA filter. You can attach it from the countertop and the water tastes great. I saw one once attached to a public drinking fountain in Mexico City and I drank from it and didn’t get sick.
· Don’t give in to fear based shopping. - What I mean is that advertisers try to get you to buy based on fear of just about everything. If you don’t buy vitamins, if you don’t buy organic, if you don’t buy their cleaner, if you don’t do this or do that….then catastrophe! Guess what? People have been living for thousands of years without that cleaner, without those vitamins, without that brand or that product. Fear is a very powerful seller… pay attention and you will see it everywhere, but don’t believe it.
· Plant fruit trees in your yard. In a few years you will have lots of fresh fruit for free.
· Don’t by frozen meals - Yes, they’re convenient, but you pay a high price for that convenience. Instead, designate 2 days a week to cook. Cook more than you need and freeze the leftovers for the next few days.
· Don’t by cut up vegetables or prepackaged spinace or lettuce. Again, yes, its convenient, but you pay way too much.
· Buy generic brands when you can.
· Don’t eat meat every night - Make salads, pasta and vegetables your main entree. You will spend a lot less for groceries if you cut back on the amount of meat you eat.
· Cut back on the beer and soda - the only thing they do for you is make you unhealthy.
· Don’t shop when you’re hungry - Eat first, then go shopping. Your power to say ‘No’ is greatly enhanced when you are not hungry.
· Buy consumbables like razor blades, shaving cream, nail polish, car oil, dish towels, toilet paper, paper towels, napkins etc… at the dollar store or on ebay.
· Check out the following websites that are helpful www.thegrocerygame.com interesting concept. www.mommysavers.com good tips, lots of coupons and recipes· Shop in the outer aisles of the grocery store. Thats where the fresh food is. The middle aisles have all the packaged and fancy foods. (with fancy prices)·

· Try fasting once a week. Use the time to talk to God.
· Buy the fruits and vegetables that are in season from a roadside stand or farmer’s market.
· Don’t buy something just because you have a coupon. Buy it only if you need it.
· Make a grocery list and stick to it. Buy only whats on your list. This will stop impulse buying.
- Don’t buy anything with high fructose corn syrup. This eliminates just about all of those expensive bottled fruit juices.
